On my last post I had concluded my 8 weeks with the ‘Shapeshifters’ programme and I was now embarking on a 3 month programme with a new personal trainer much closer to me. I had signed up for 3 sessions a week and I jumped straight in after the Shapeshifters programme had concluded.
I finished the 8 week programme with a 6.8% body fat reduction and after 16 weeks I am now at a 12% body fat loss which I am chuffed with. During that time I officially dropped to a lower jeans waist size which was a good little booster too.
The scale weight is creeping down, but with the focus on building muscle the movement there hasn’t been as swift as the body fat percentage. Still, a stone and a half is not to be sniffed at. I am so much more switched on with diet, weight, body fat percentage, lean mass, hydration etc, it’s what I wanted in terms of changing lifestyle and understanding how it is all linked together.
My hyperbolic age has dropped from 37 to 25, my lean mass is massively increased but I still have a little way to go. I am all in the healthy regions of body fat % now but I would like to achieve a further 3% total body fat reduction.
My legs are showing outrageous results compared to the others but they have always been strong anyway. So even though I say 3% reduction overall is my target, I think I may need to squeeze more because the legs compensate for the torso body fat % being higher and I obviously want that low in line with the rest. Annoyingly, I haven’t further reduced my neck/collar size since the 8 week programme but you can’t choose where it comes off! I still would like another half an inch there if possible.
I still have 1 and a half months of this programme left and then an additional month before I go travelling which was my target, so I am still on course. I absolutely love the training despite it being very tough. We are into a chest, back, legs routine now and even though my knees need a lot of attention to be able to do it, I have had no real problems.
I will not be a beach whale on the Copacabana beach when I get to Rio!!
